Jon is still on the road with Neko Case supporting her excellent recent album “Middle Cyclone”.

NPR.org has a free download of the recent Neko Case concert from Washington, D.C.’s 9:30 Club on April 9th.

Click the podcast button at the top for the MP3 download, when the podcast changes you’ll be able to get it at the concert page.

With guest guitarist Eric Bachmann (Crooked Fingers), and additional vocal power from Rachel Flotard (Visqueen), Nora O’Connor and Lucy Wainwright Roche.

Jon is out on tour again with Neko Case in the upcoming months.

February sees a five day jaunt in Europe, taking in Germany, Holland, France and England. Then from the end of March through April it’s the turn of the US and Canada.

Here’s what Jon has to say about it…

By the time Dec 28th rolls around in Seattle, the streets will be clear and you can cure your cabin fever by coming to see us at the Tripple Door.

I will be playing with Mark Pickerel in the Praying Hands and I will also be doing an opening set using Mark, the Sangster Brothers, Rachel Flotard and Lindsay Cates.

There’s a couple new videos and pictures added to the site of Jon in action with The Boxmasters on the just ended tour.

And yes in answer to the question posed in the post announcing Jon’s place on the tour he did have to get a fancy whistle but not only that he had to get a fancy barnet do as well.

Now I just have to figure out who he reminds me of, there’s a touch of the fried chicken Colonel, or maybe it’s Custer or is it a dead president. Let us know what you think in the comment section below.

Jon has managed to wangle a gig playing steel guitar with Billy Bob Thornton’s band The Boxmasters.

The band will be supporting Willie Nelson during the end of November and the begining of December. See the “On Tour” section for more details.

Back by popular demand is Jon’s other band “The Shining”.

They will be playing a free show at the Caffe Boa in Tempe AZ on Saturday November 1st – full details, directions etc are up in the “On Tour” section of the site.
