Grammy nominations

Neko Case’s latest album “Middle Cyclone” – which of course Jon played on and is currently touring in support of – is up for a couple of Grammys.

It’s been nominated in the “Best Contemporary Folk Album” (Vocal or Instrumental) category along with Neko and Kathleen Judge’s artwork (below) in the “Best Recording Package” category, for the 52nd Grammy Awards.

Les Paul R.I.P.

Sad news at the passing yesterday of a true genius in the world of music, Les Paul aged 94.

Jon had the great pleasure to sit in and play with the great man at his regular Monday night gig at the Iridium in New York, in 2007.

Multitracking, tape delay, sound on sound, would we have the music we have today with Lester William Polsfuss?

Tommy Connell jamming at NAMM

If you head on over to The Gretsch Pages you can check out Jon’s number one guitar go to guy and Gretschmeister Tommy Connell jamming at Winter NAMM with Gretsch guitar endorsee Bobby Gibson.

There’s a bunch of pictures of Tommy in action along with an MP3 download of Tom and Bob playing the Cole Porter classic “Begin the Beguine”. There all also some great MP3 downloads of Bobby playing.
