Jon Rauhouse News

Site update

You may have noticed that the site has a slightly different look to it, things added here and there – such as the search facility and the odd star around.

I’ve tested it out before going live with a couple of operating systems (Windows based) and most of the main browsers that people use to view this particular site. All the latest versions of the up to date good browsers – Google Chrome, Apple Safari, Mozilla Firefox and Opera – I’ve also checked it out with Internet Explorer (IE) 5,6,7,8 & 9.

As per usual certain things that work perfectly with the former set of browsers don’t quite pan out with IE but in general everything should be readable and usable. But if there’s something not working for you – and you aren’t using the really old Internet Explorers 5,5.5,6 or 7 – contact me through the form you can find from the “Contact/Booking” link on the left. Choose “Toxic Web – webmaster” from the “Recipient:” drop down list. Please include your details about your browser and operating system in the mail. You can find this info on the “About Site” page.

Don Windham's Haymaker Guitars

Jon says “everyone needs to check out” Don Windham’s Haymaker Guitars shop.

Yup to go with the great guitars Don makes – see the Haymaker Haynnifer in the gear section – he now buys, sells and repairs stringed instruments in his own shop. This is where Jon got “my newest favorite guitar from him: 1961 Harmony Hollywood archtop”.

So head along to:

Haymaker Guitars
2010 N. 7th St.
Phoenix, AZ 85006
602-327-2702
www.haymakerguitars.com

I was in the same Roberto-Venn class as Mr. Don and as well as being a top guitar maker he’s also a top bloke, so I’m with Jon – everyone needs to check it out now.

Jon's Gear

There’s new pics and info up in the “Jon’s Gear” section of the site.

A few amps – 40/50s Magnatone, Dickerson & 70s Garnet – and guitars – Kay – that Jon has found on his trawls through second hand shops, as well as new gear from a couple of guitar makers.

You might have seen him using the Eastwood 12 string and the Epiphone Joe Pass on tour with Neko of late. he latter has replaced Jon’s 1930s Slingerland on the road, the rigours and perils of touring not being too good for such and old piece of gear.

The Jon Rauhouse Sestet live

Jon’s back out with his Sestet in Arizona during October.

The dates are up in the “On Tour” section of the site and below.

The Sestet is of course made of Jon himself along with Tommy Connell, Rachel Flotard, Jeff Livingston, Will Lovell, Kevin O’Donnell with special guest Jennifer Rauhouse.

They will also be recording at the Wavelab studio in Tucson, while down there, for Jon’s next record.

New videos

I’ve stuck up some videos from the Jakob Dylan & his Three Legs tour including some some from the recent shows in Europe. A number from the Festival Luna Luner in Spain and one from underneath the Arches in Glasgow. Unfortunately didn’t manage to get any clips from that show myself.

There’s also an older clip of the Jon Rauhouse Sestet playing “Smoke Rings” up there. So check out the Tour Videos section of the site.

New Neko tour dates

Straight after Jon has finished touring with Jakob he’s back on the road with Neko – one ends August 14th next begins Aug 16th.

The dates are up on the Tour section of the site, apparently there should be more added in time.

New pics and tour date changes

Jon sent me some new pics of himself on the current tour with Jakob Dylan, youc an check them out on the Tour Pics section of the site.

Also there’s been some changes, additions and deletions on the tour schedule. One Irish gig’s date has changed, according to the venue’s web site tickets already bought will be valid for the new date.

There’s been a new date added in Cornwall and some of the dates have been deleted because Jon is probably not playing them – you can still check them out at Jakob’s site – the rest of the details of these changes check out this sites Tour page.

Some new dates with Neko will be added shortly.
