Jon is back on the road with Jakob Dylan at the end of the month and through July.
Dates are in the US and then they head over the pond for a couple of gigs in England, one in Scotland and a couple in Ireland in July.
Check out the Tour section of the site for full details.
After getting a link to a video in an email from Jon, I’ve added a few videos from the recent Jokob Dylan gig at The Wiltern in LA, on May 13th.
You can check out the band, with the producer of Jakob’s latest album “Women And Country”, T Bone Burnett, in the Video section of the site. A couple of tracks are duplicated just viewed from different angles.
…to give.
The video from Jakob Dylan’s performance of “Nothing But the Whole Wide World” on The Late Show With David Letterman, from April 21st 2010, is up on the Jakob Dylan video section of this site.
All the gang are there, Jon – in a great whistle – Paul, Tom, Kelly & Neko.
Jon didn’t play on Jakob Dylan’s new album which is released on April 6th but he will be playing the tracks from it on tour so why not give it a listen below…
Please enable Javascript and Flash to view this Flash video.Produced by T Bone Burnett it does feature Neko Case & Kelly Hogan.
As you should know by now Jon is part of Jakob Dylan’s touring band in support of the latter’s “Women and Country” album, along with Neko, Kelly, Paul, Tom & Barry.
You can checkout the whole lot of ‘em playing four tracks from the album on a video posted up in the “Tour Video” section of the site.
As I posted about in the previous tour that wasn’t post Jon is currently sitting in with Jakob Dylan, playing steel guitar and they’ll be out on tour in the US & Canada in April and May.
The tour dates are up in the “On Tour” section and as you can see a certain couple of ladies are also part of the tour, namely Ms. Neko Case & Ms. Kelly Hogan, which with Jon, Paul Rigby, Tom V. Ray & Barry Mirochnick pretty much makes up the whole of Neko’s touring band.
Sounds like he’s still having a blast…
the rehearsals and promo are going good and it is great fun Jon Rauhouse
Some of you eagle eyed viewers out there might have spotted three Neko Case tour dates up in the “On Tour” section of the site, which have now disappeared.
Well the dates are still going ahead but Jon isn’t part of the band, so I’ve taken them down. You can get the information from Neko’s site, so get along and support great live music even if it is Rauhouseless
Jon has been hired, along with Tom V. Ray and Barry Mirochnick – Kelly Hogan and Paul Rigby are playing with Neko – by Jakob Dylan for his upcoming tours. So he’s currently rehearsing for those shows. I’ll get the dates up as soon as I get ‘em.
In the words of the man himself…
Neko band was going to take a bunch of time off so its great to be employed.
Jon has also uploaded a video of himself playing with Joey Burns & John Convertino (of Calexico) in Tacoma, which I’m just about to add to the site.
I met up with Jon at the recent gig in Glasgow, at the Oran Mor on Sept 7th, he was in top form as was Neko Case and her band – Jon, Paul Rigby, Barry Mirochnick, Tom V Ray & Kelly Hogan – who put on a great set, from the new album, “Middle Cyclone”, and some old favourites.
Some dark and blurry pics from side stage are up on the site in the “On Tour” “Tour Pics” section.
There’s also a couple of videos up on the site as well, both are from the soundcheck with Jon putting his pedal steel, Eastwood and Epiphone through their paces, along with a bit of Paul Rigby. It’s in the “Video” section of the “On Tour” pages.
The tour of the UK still has a number of dates to go so if you can get along and enjoy a great band play some top class music.
If you downloaded the NPR podcast of the Neko Case show from Washington’s 9:30 Club on April 9th that I posted about a couple of weeks about then you would have heard Kelly Hogan talk about her, Kathleen Judge and Jon taking to the air in some old time planes.
Here’s what the fella himself has to say about it…
Out on tour in Washington DC, I got a chance to take a ride in a 1945 T-6G Texan. That is a World War 2 era trainer airplane. The pilot is Kelly Hogan’s brother, Skip Hogan. What an experience and what a day. – Jon Rauhouse
It was all thanks to the National Capitol Squadron of the Commemorative Air Force.
