Jakob Dylan & Three Legs

As I posted about in the previous tour that wasn’t post Jon is currently sitting in with Jakob Dylan, playing steel guitar and they’ll be out on tour in the US & Canada in April and May.

The tour dates are up in the “On Tour” section and as you can see a certain couple of ladies are also part of the tour, namely Ms. Neko Case & Ms. Kelly Hogan, which with Jon, Paul Rigby, Tom V. Ray & Barry Mirochnick pretty much makes up the whole of Neko’s touring band.

Sounds like he’s still having a blast…

the rehearsals and promo are going good and it is great fun Jon Rauhouse

The Boxmasters pics and videos.

There’s a couple new videos and pictures added to the site of Jon in action with The Boxmasters on the just ended tour.

And yes in answer to the question posed in the post announcing Jon’s place on the tour he did have to get a fancy whistle but not only that he had to get a fancy barnet do as well.

Now I just have to figure out who he reminds me of, there’s a touch of the fried chicken Colonel, or maybe it’s Custer or is it a dead president. Let us know what you think in the comment section below.

Check out the On Tour section for them, one video you can’t see Jon but certainly can hear him.

On Tour with Billy Bob Thornton and Willie Nelson

Jon has managed to wangle a gig playing steel guitar with Billy Bob Thornton’s band The Boxmasters.

The band will be supporting Willie Nelson during the end of November and the begining of December. See the “On Tour” section for more details.

In Jon’s own words…

What can I say? Jon Rauhouse

Will have to find out if Jon has to get dolled up in the fancy suit like those Mr Thornton and the rest of The Boxmasters wear.

In the end the blues (music) are not the paper they’re written on, we agreed, it’s the horn and the slapped bass, it’s the singer and the voice, it’s the smoke in the room, it’s the people listening, bent foreward, eyes closed or shiny, it’s the time and place and the ache inside that matches the ache in the words and music. It isn’t something to take apart to much, to analyze. Hoagy Carmichael expresses exactly the way Jon feels about music

From the menu on the left you’ll find your way round the site:
